RailTerm provides a new rail traffic control system for Quebec North Shore & Labrador Railway

DORVAL, July 29, 2011
RailTerm provided a new rail traffic control system for Iron Ore Company of Canada’s Quebec North Shore & Labrador Railway (QNS&L), which runs nearly 250 miles from Sept-Iles (QC) to Labrador City (NL). Phase 1 of the system was placed into service on July 25th, 2011.

The project entailed the replacement of QNS&L’s existing CTC dispatching system, the development of a new traffic planning tool, as well as other innovative support applications. The new system was built upon RailTerm’s highly successful TrainMaster dispatching software platform which, since 2004, has been at the heart of RailTerm’s internal dispatching operations in Montreal (QC) and Rutland (VT), as well as customers in North America and Africa.
